The Saga of Aun Or'es

The Sentinel slipped between the two rock archways of the ruined citadel. Panning left, then right, the armoured beast's tracking systems picking up targets in the fog of war.
Depressing the trigger lightly, a lance of bright blue light shot out from the side-slung lascannon of the Sentinel, scorching a deep cut into the side of the enemy tank. Allowing himself a brief smile before moving on, the pilot continued his hunt of his armoured foe.
A strange blip appeared on the scanner screen. At first, the pilot thought it was just a scanner echo, but as the enemy heavy stubber opened fire, he knew it was more then an echo. Panning left frantically to draw a bead to the tank's fuel tank. He couldn't.
Out of the darkness, he saw the turret spin upon it's ring. Gunning the controls out of instinct, the armoured form straining to keep up with the commands he was giving it. Sweat ran down his cheeks as he head the cannon boom into life. Seconds later, he heard the explosion from behind him. It had narrowly missed the Guard walker.
Looking around him, he quickly realised that he had just cornered himself in. Trapped behind a narrow wall, he was pinned by the Guard tank. A low growl signalled to the Sentinel pilot that his quarry was slowly advancing upon his position. With time growing short, he prepared to advance back out of cover and confront his foe one last time.
Pushing forward on the controls one last time, the Sentinel slid out in front of the approaching tank...
