Fuel Rod Gun

Thanks to Orry Watts for this.

Fuel Rod Gun 1
Fuel Rod Gun 2 Fuel Rod Gun 3

I wanted to have an anti-tank ability to my squad. Firstly I took a pulse rifle that is held upright then took a razor and cut it down to the hand and the butt of the gun. Next I took a spare plasma rifle for the crisis suit. I took a razor and carefully cut the bulb at the end of the rifle. Then I cut off the canisters on the top.

Glue the gun upside down, and add the rail to the hand to support the gun. Find a small cylinder much like the peg off of a gun drone sprue. Consult to the photos I've taken if you aren't sure.

I think the conversion was very well done, however, the paint job sort-of ruins it for me.

Great idea I don\'t know that will work ingame but cool. As for the paint though...
Disgusting. It looks like you either spilled plastic glue on them or you are gloss happy. Try using primer next time too.

Comment made by Bubgum on 09:05:06, 1 January 2008
Great! i also thought my fire warriors were lacking that spicy punch of heavy weapons, and i was thinking of doing a similar conversion myself. Good job!

I made one of those for my chaos tau(!?!?!) but made it's barrel a mouth with teeth and eyes, with a catachan's foot hanging out.

Comment made by Commander Bloodlust on 01:45:18, 8 July 2007
I Love this so simple yet so effective looks like it's made of a plasma gun flipped and cut I'm definitely gonna make one.

very cool idea. could use better pictures

Comment made by loonitick on 09:23:39, 14 June 2007
I would rather give it the stats of the hammerhead fusion cannon, but remove the twin link. That makes it range 24" S8 AP1 Heavy 1, blast. Quite similar to the fuel rod in Halo.

Comment made by Argetlam on 10:01:40, 22 May 2007
i took inspiration from this and did my own design for a tau rocket launcher, but then realized the Tau already have rocket launchers, and they dont look like this. so i made it a tau portable grenade launcher. stick two fire warrior grenades onto the side part where it normally joins the XV8 arm, put a couple more on the base, as it they are waiting to be fired, and there you go!
ill show if someone tells me how to post pics on the website!

pretty awesome dude but the paint needs more work but hey it's pretty leathal looking

Comment made by Articerile on 05:57:04, 22 March 2007
When I made mine, it was more like a rocket launcher, I had him crouching down.
I also put one of the Kroot Rifle straps (without the feathers) linking from the top to the backpack, and another link from the backpack to a 'powerpack' on the floor.

I removed the rail, and instead of the two cylinders at the end, I took the ammo bit off of a fusion cannon.
I'll try and put up my variation of your variation when I can.

Very Nice, I like it a lot, and I wish we could legally take them in squads...

Comment made by scrambled egg machine on 19:50:44, 26 December 2006
I'll do it, but call it a missile rack with said stats.

Comment made by Aunvre on 09:33:26, 22 December 2006
im confused but it looks good

Comment made by big tau mech guy on 02:29:27, 14 December 2006
if you turned it around it would look like a missile launcher - probably more of a pulse catapulter.

Comment made by HunterCadre on 04:38:45, 23 November 2006
This is a cool conversion. I gave it the stats of a fusion blaster (for the anti-tank ability) and added 1 to each of my squads.

Comment made by stsonic on 10:41:31, 18 November 2006
