Thanks to GreyDeath for this.

Pacu 1
Pacu 2 Pacu 3 Pacu 4

The Tau Pacu is a long ranged fighter for tank hunting.

Under the guidance of Commander Shas'O Mesme' Vre the Earth Caste was instructed to build upon the Devilfish's chassis to be able to Lift twice the amount of weight so it could carry twice the amount of gear, armour, troops and carry twice the fire power. But had to be Tau so had to stay light enough and nimble enough.

With extra thrusters which where mounted upside down for a more stable and be more of a violent vehicle and improve hover abilities to be able to shoot large amounts of fire power at the enemy. Plus the extra thrusters and wings where added to the front and side pods removed the weight capacity was nearly doubled and the speed was also increased to a minimal degree.

This improvement made it possible to carry the extra weight of lots of extra fire power. The Pacu can have almost any wing mounted weapon combos that the fighter pilot and gunner could want. The armour was also improving some but not enough to take away all the added benefits the new engines and wings afforded it.

But then the Earth Caste was requested to improve the gunner's ability to be able to see and track targets faster and more reliable. This was also done by adding a gun turret to the top of the hammerhead where the gunner was located out side to see and track with no interference.

The thrusters had no problem lifting the turret and the weight. The Earth Caste where able to add twin linked Broadside Rail Guns to the Turret. And 4 wing mounted pods which can carry any of the Tau's Twin linked Crisis Suits weapons. Plus the original burst cannon is still in the nose cone.

This extra fire power and power and ammo take up a good amount of room inside the ship but still afford enough room for 8 Fire Warriors to travel inside.

This ship was dubbed "The Pacu" for its hungry appetite and rolls in taking the battle to the enemy and attacking targets much larger than itself. When the enemy was pounded until nothing was left the team of Fire Warriors would deploy and quickly wipe out anything if at all left.

The "Pacu" is not massed produced and is a rare site and at this moment it is pretty clear the imperium has yet to even encounter one.

The poor Orks and Tyranids have met there deaths at its hands many of times.

This long range fighter and troop transporter is a mobile army in its own rights.

Shas'o Mesme' Vre has ordered immediate building of this model after such great victories in the battle field proving itself time and again.

The Pacu ship was built using four jets from the hammerhead and four wings from the hammerhead also. Then I mounted them in the front and back and mounted the wings onto the jets. The jets are mounted upside down to look different and I mounted the wings in the correct direction. Pick the drones weapons of your choice.

Then as an added detail, I used the Eldar cockpit from the wave serpent as my gunner's compartment and also added rail guns and a Tau fire warriror inside as the gunner of the ship.

fluff wise the internal engine and gunnery maintenance (ammo, engines, targeting programmers) would literaly fill the tank to the brim in mechanics

An Eldar piece... shame on you.

How much does it cost to build

Comment made by Andy on 12:48:44, 25 November 2006
I have to say I did sort of assume it would be a 'flyer' rather than a skimmer, so would not have problems with catching on the ground. Also it gives me the impression it would have some limited VTOL capability. Although i do think the rear engine placement is at odds with the 'fast tracking' concept behind the turret.

Still pretty cool conversion.

and to all that whineing about extra armour, catching on ground, can't get off, etc... he said tank killer with extra thrust. this thing is, tacticaly speaking, nothing like a tank. as i said, think attack chopper. higher altitude, faster and used as aggressive support

Comment made by thecatinthehat on 05:49:39, 7 November 2006
cool concept, a Tau attack chopper. it reminds me of the Russian Hind-D. i just hope the gunner has goggles

Comment made by solomon on 10:00:28, 19 October 2006
this is cool but it wouldnt stand a chance against most tanks, you should have added extra armour with green stuff

ACE I LIKE UR WORK GRAYDEATH I LIKE THRE DRONES AT THE BACK AT A ANGLE

Comment made by yeroc on 16:29:56, 4 September 2006
wolf, to fix the "shooting the engine off" thing, he can just mount the back engines on the side hatches. that would also take care of the burst cannon problem because it would fly straigt up, not at an angle.

otherwise, it's just cool looking.

Comment made by Wolf_Kazumaru on 18:33:34, 19 August 2006
Ah, yes, I forgot something on there.

Regardless of all that: It looks dang cool.

Comment made by Wolf_Kazumaru on 18:22:31, 19 August 2006
... Just to be totally clear, you're aware that there are several design issues and fluff inaccuracies in there, right? For example: That thing would snap in half like the Titanic upon takeoff. The Burstcannon serves only as a hazard to anyone inside, as it's likely to catch on the ground and flip the vehicle, causing a catastrophic explosion, which in reality would destroy a large portion of your army. Instead of ranting about the laws of physics, I'll just give you a quick, easyish way to fix almost every problem with this (Except for the "It can't really land" part. You're on your own there.)

Impose a speed penalty so it only goes about 3/4 speed, and can only carry half the normal troops (Therefore 4). Also, if you were to rotate the engines to vertical, and put the wings on so they look right like that, it probably wouldn't snap in half... well, at least not as fast.

I also can't help with the "The gunner would probably end up shooting the engine and destroying the whole craft" thing.
