Thanks to GreyDeath for this.

Crayfish painted

The Crayfish are my favorite things to make and create. I came up with them as a way to have a bit more fire support for my Fire Warriors.

I think if Eldar would use them then Tau would have a fire support for their troops as well. So I sat down and came up with the Crayfish.

Ordered the parts I needed so it would be GW official to use in their games. I then sat down until I made it the way I wanted it; and I love them!

They're really easy to build with just a Gun Drone and a battlesuit weapon of your Choice and then the Necrons' Tomb Spiders legs.

That's it, and wow, you have some heavier support walking along with your troops!

It dosn't fit in fluf-wise, but it does look cool. I won't let you play with it, though. That Railgun looks too powerful.

very original idea! much respect =D
more pic related to leg assembly is welcome tho
also the tau game is efficiency, every unit has its own purpose. use warriors against army with 4 or worse armor. against MEQ armies like nec/cm/m etc warriors are a wast of point. focus on battle suits and those snipe drones.btw i found this drone army very interesting

According to the Tau Codex, Etheral doctrine prevents integration of organic heavy weapons into fire warrior teams. Other than that, amazing model.

I love the design and the color scheme you have used. This might be one of the best Tau units I have seen with legs!

Comment made by Mr. Mister on 08:50:53, 31 December 2007
Nice Dude! how many points does it cost to play it?

Comment made by Slugga on 12:32:56, 29 December 2007
Tau allready has heavy firepower! Just order some Heavy Gun Drones from forgeworld. They look much cooler and Tau-like.

Comment made by Veteran3212 on 01:37:36, 27 December 2007

The necrons won\'t be happy about that. The legs might melt, mid game and return to their former master!

Comment made by Didimau1 on 02:17:19, 14 October 2007

Comment made by HardcoreFroth on 18:23:27, 9 October 2007

Great model, but Tau do have fire support in the form of Gun drones, Sniper drones, Shield drones and Markerlight drones

Comment made by DRobot on 22:17:17, 13 July 2007

arrrrrrrgh! I love it, snazadelic conversion.

Comment made by Bugga62 on 11:35:46, 9 July 2007
Awesome conversion! Very cool looking.

Comment made by Extreme on 11:17:46, 5 July 2007
This is a brilliant conversion. The design is well thought out, and the fact that it's a walker could be justified by the fact it's a nippy weapons platform without the expense of anti grav technology.
However, one question; the Games Workshop website states that, when you order tomb spyder 'legs' that they are 1 of 3 random pairs. since this model uses 2 pairs, how did you (GreyDeath or readers) ascertain that you got 2 identical pairs?

Comment made by --leo-- on 04:55:58, 10 April 2007
it kind of looks cool but it doesn't fit in the tau culture, maybe if you made some sort of skimmer with this idea.

but it looks cool

Comment made by orkinator on 05:26:12, 6 April 2007
It looks brilliant but how do you stick it together as i tried one but it fell apart. do you pin it?

Comment made by shortyMcshortshort on 13:30:01, 3 February 2007
you should VDR the beast!
(VDR= vehicle design rules)

Comment made by Adonom on 17:23:30, 29 December 2006
On this, it would now only be usable if you opponent agrees, as "chapter approved" is no longer... approved (legal). I do wonder, however, what the stats are?

Comment made by blackphoenix on 16:03:58, 23 December 2006
how to you calculate the points?

Comment made by blackphoenix on 16:02:51, 23 December 2006
How is it legal if it isnt in the codex? (note, i am a noob :( ) i have a 1500 army for tau and 1500 SM. By the way, i love it and really want to make one or two w/ railguns to deal with tanks

Comment made by Mad Martin on 05:37:50, 7 December 2006
