The Ork forces had taken Oubliette City almost 6 months earlier tank commander Peter Fhitz of the Valhallan 497th armoured regiment is sitting looking out of the hatch of his Leman Russ vanquisher battle tank watching the preparation for the attack. His emperors fist tank company was lined up in squadrons of three Leman Russ battle tanks one squadron after another behind his tank.

The regimental commander Dave Liger rolls up along side his vanquisher in the 497ths Baneblade the Luna Arae and waves to Peter. Then over the Vox caster Peter hears Dave's voice "This is to all the men and women of the 497th we shall be starting the mission in five minutes the objective is to drive the Ork scum from the City and to retake the city Men and Women it has been an honour to serve with you on this day the Orks will never forget us as we shall strike the fear of the emperor into them for Valhalla and for the Emperor!!!"

At 1700 hours planetary standard the first volleys of fire from a concealed emperors wrath artillery company started to hit the outskirts of the city. Peter can see small houses getting vaporised in single hits from the mighty earthshakers. As the Leman Russes approach the city the first volleys of fire from the orks start to hammer out. Crude krak rockets begin to impact on the front armour of the Leman Russes from his position in the turret Peter sees a russ on his right vaporised by a lucky shot that penetrates its armor. "When I get out of this whoever the tech adept was that was in charge of servicing that russ is a dead man."

As the armoured company gets within firing range they begin to unleash the firepower of their main cannons into the defensive positions of the orks battle cannon shells and Las-cannon shots destroy ammo caches creating huge explosions. To the left of Peters Armoured Company the Luna Arae fires all its weapons at a large mob of orks flooding out of the city completely devastating there ranks and leaving the last couple of survivors to be crushed under her tracks.

Then an unimaginable thing happened out of nowhere the Leman Russ to the right of Peters company command tank disappeared in a tremendous explosion "Emperors Teeth what was that."
From the city a cloud of smoke comes billowing out and from the cloud emerges a Skullhammer Battle Fortress. A huge missile fires with what looks like a small ork sitting in it that hits the rear of another russ blowing it into a mist of blood and metal that rains down on peter.

A destroyer tank hunter the Hammer of Dawn fires on the Skullhammer its laser destroyer hits it dead on one of the twin linked big shooters cutting it clean off the side of the Fortress. The Destroyers crew doesn't even have time to celebrate before the Skullhammer fires its main Cannon obliterating the destroyer in a single shot

Peter knows the damage that this monster will cause if it isn't stopped. So he gets his gunner to load one of the special vanquisher rounds and aims for the hole caused by the deceased crew of the destroyer. Firing the vanquisher round passes straight through the hole and explodes the ammo store causing the Skullhammer to explode obliterating itself, two buildings and a mob of Ork Boyz unfortunately two more Leman Russes and a Chimera full of storm troopers were also caught in the blast and destroyed.

After this what was left of Peters armoured Company accompanied by the Luna Arae and the ground troops that were following behind headed into the city and crushed the ork resistance.

Peter gets out of his Vanquisher and looks at what is left of the city the smoking remains are a terrible site to see the destruction both from the Orks and the effort to retake the city is huge. Peter turns to his second in command " Get the men to repair and rearm the tanks and get some rest there is much to do but for now drinks all round!"
