Thanks to Tau Online for this.
My paint scheme generally revolves around two colours: black and blue. Below is a picture of one of my troops painted in this way:
I paint the cloth Chaos Black and the armour Enchanted Blue. After painting the cloth and the armour I go around the edges of the armour and paint that with Skull White. As for the gun and the circle on the body I paint that Boltgun Metal. As for the base, I paint the edge Dark Angels Green and then I put modelling flock and static grass on the base.
Simple enough really, although I like the ending effect. Below are a few more pictures of my army painted in this way:

| I don't link the fire warrior's paintjob, but I get the point, and the Sniper Drones are awesome, not sure about the Crisis Suits though, I can't see much detail...

| love the drones vary nice choice of paint. The location for the shas'ie and shas'vre (battlesuits) is a bad, you cant see the detell.

Yeah it is more of a basic paint scheme. The highlighting isn't a hugely advanced technique, although I think it does make the difference between a basic paint scheme and a slightly better one?
Ice blue would be cool.. maybe only apply a bit though; I'd imagine the ice blue would clash with the chaos black?

| Its a good toutorial for a basic tau player, who has not painted before, or has little experience. There is one advanced techniqe that I noticed and that was highlightng. Although I think this should be done with an Ice blue.
