My Tau commander, Shas'o Buzam' A'Calessa (codenamed: Commander Mindwhip), who is working perfectly on the battlefield, and slaughtered entire squadrons of orks and gaunts in close combat - just with her usual equipment, without any special rules.
I made the lance out of a spoke of a wheel, mounted by a fantasy chaos sword. The hands are cut out of sprue parts - the trick was not to make the hands and place the weapon in it, but to build the hands around the hilt. But for the perfect position, I had to sculpt the entire arm from the elbows. I just fascinated by the look of the mechs in the anime series "Vandread", so I made the head of this suit a bit similar, using green stuff, from one of the commander heads, adding the other head's antennas to hers. The original crisis head was placed to her shoulders as a multi-tracker unit. Also, sometimes I use the vectored retro-thrusters, and I modeled it to his back, by using two old stealth suit's jetpack. The leftover antennas are placed onto the suit's own jetpack, replacing the original emblems, one with re-positioned relays. Also, I wanted to do a good, heroic position, so I placed the whole model onto rocks and bended the left leg. The "bleeding" necron is just a little extra to the scene. The banners are made of fine, thin polistyrol that I found in a chocolate box.
After I finished, it turned out that only 2 weapon mounts are useable for the 3 weapon system, so I have to pin a shield generator to the right wrist if I want to use it.

| I think its a nice idea. And because of the close combat thing... Commander Farsight also has a sword why cant this guy use a flagpole as an melee weapon?

| Never mind fighting with flagpoles, I don't think i've ever see a Tau flagpole They just don't seem to go for the whole Imperial banner thing.

| tau do not do CC WILLINGLY, butthey not that bad if it comes to a fistfight... photon grenades and 4 save for the FWs mess up with the probabilities really... they even can kill lictrs without heavy losses (fact, happened to me). The crisis suits are good and durable too, and the commander is BRUTAL if the enemy is not a terminator squad or another hi-ST energy killer.

| I said... without spec. rules, It's already brutal against the right targets... Preferably orks, IG and stray 'nida gaunts. But I work on it.

| not realy, fattyboy. most of the models who get cc with her have enough place under it. against monsters... the battle won't last as long to get to my nerves.
