no,no,no,no,no,no,no,no,no. the tau don't like close combat, and as argetlam said, the kroot do the dirty work for them. it's just wrong. however, it would be awesome if you did that with ig. when i have an ig army, those close combat guys are going to make up my whole army.

Great! now you\'ve done it!
Now i registered just to comment on these armed-to-the-teeth-cc-firewarriors.

Well, it\'s been said before. it\'s against the fluff. But still a nice idea. Obviously you tried of fix the lack of heavy weapons and close combat ability in Tau-infantery, which is a cute thought, but would tipp the balance of the army toward an unpleasing end.

Just imagine you\'d be playing against them: Your army\'d get pounded by the highly mobile yet heavy punshing assets like the crisis-suits, and you`re left overs\'d be swept away by the heavy-weapon teams and cc-squads, which were quite fast in their DF\'s, too...

not too much fuinto play against now, is it?

goes against all fluff

No. Just no. Sorry tgo be so harsh, but no Fire Warrior would ever prefer close ocmbat over ranged combat.

Comment made by MarkSamurai on 07:34:33, 21 August 2007
the Tau do have swords guys they are katana swords and if you guys played Fire Warrior before the fire warrior, La'Kais, has a katana and fire caste tau are buff and the same height as a human compared to the other castes.

i know dident think of the I when i did this rules ;P

Comment made by Grogalmighty on 18:37:49, 1 August 2007
The rules are horribly flawed. Why would you take an assault squad that has I2??

I don't care about the weapon skill, with an I like that, there is no point in assaulting them. Nice try though.

Its nice idea, but i dont thing think it would really work. like droids said, ai goes against all the fluff, and cc is meant to be the tau weakness, all races have one. if you want to charge into cc, tau arent the race for you.

Comment made by Alexander on 16:36:46, 23 July 2007
Yes they have swords! But are smaller, of the size of a Knive (for infantry).

Comment made by Droids_Rule on 11:23:31, 23 July 2007
First off, it goes agaisnt all fluff.

However, if you're adamant about CC Tau it'd probally be better to just convert some Tau and have them 'counts as' Kroot. Then you'll have no problems in tournaments are at clubs.

Comment made by Jon-azz on 01:43:19, 23 July 2007
I know...

Comment made by Argetlam on 23:48:56, 22 July 2007
Tau dont do close combat! its aginst everything they believe in! they think its barbaric and primitive, and use the kroot to do it. and they dont have swords...they have bonding knives and the ethereals have honour blades. so plasma swords..sorry!

Comment made by Alexander on 20:53:28, 22 July 2007
Good rules. Wrong race. 8/10.

now I know what stats to use for my tau assault squad except the squad has two shotguns.

Comment made by Arnorath on 02:53:55, 22 July 2007
<<forgot to put this in 1st post>> maybe they should get some sort of initiative bonus as a result of being specially trained for close combat - i would expect many Tau commanders would be reticent to send their relatively fragile, slow-to-react Tau brethren into a roaring melee when their are Kroot mercs to be had. just a thought. brilliant idea!! 9/10

Comment made by Arnorath on 02:51:04, 22 July 2007
kewl - this is the kind of thing that would go really well with my friend's Farsight Enclaves army
