Thanks to Loch Ness Jellly for this.
Forts can be quite complicated to create, or very easy. This is a small guide on what to look for in a foam fort. Foam forts are easy to convert into nice big flashy-looking forts. The one below has just been cut at with a knife - be sure not to cut yourself, though!.
Something to look for in a foam fort: A place for a staircase, a nice place to shoot from and a main "hall"
After you have your basic foam fort, cut out a door, staircase anything, if needed. Then paint your fort in suitable colours (pink is probably not the best choice!) and add any trinkets onto it, like some dead bodies, pipes, weapons rack etc.
If you are going to spray paint this (as a undercoat), then you'll have to cover the foam in PVA glue (or similar), otherwise the foam can be burned away.
