Thanks to Hunter for this.
| Name | Cost | Ws | Bs | S | T | W | I | A | Ld | Save |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Shas'la | 28 pts | 2 | 2 (3) | 3 | 3 (4) | 1 | 2 | 2 | 7 | 3+ |
| Shas'ui | +5 | 2 | 2 (3) | 3 | 3 (4) | 1 | 2 | 2 | 8 | 3+ |
Squad 3-10 pathfinders. Fast Attack Choice.
Weapons Pulse Carbine with marker light. Each pathfinder is mounted on a Tau jetbike. See the Tau Jetbike special rules.
Options One Shas'La may be upgraded to a Shas'ui for +5 points. He may be given additional equipment from the armoury. One in Three Tau jetbikes may be given Burst Cannons in place of their Drone's Pulse Carbines for +8 pts, or Rail Rifles for +15 points (They do get hot! In this case they overload the engine...)
Tau Jetbike This light one Tau skimmer is a new innovation of the Earth caste. It consists of a light grav lifter attached to the rear of a chassis, with a slung gun drone armed with twin pulse carbines slung below. This allows great and manoeuvrability whilst maintaining an almost eerily quiet ride.
As the gun drone is capable of targeting and firing on their own, the rider may fire his own weapon to increase the firepower of the unit. The Jetbike may move up to 6" in the movement phase as listed under Tau Jetpacks in the Tau Codex (Page 16) but may not deep strike, but otherwise follows these rules exactly. The Gun drone may fire in addition to the rider's CQB Carbine. If this is done, the gun drone uses its BS of 2, whilst the rider uses his BS of 3. Otherwise, the gun drones shots are BS 3 as the rider controls them.
Pathfinders Follow the same rules as Pathfinders, but may not take a Devilfish for obvious reasons...

| I want to know where you got the idea that a Piranha is not a scoring unit, since that is the requirement for holding objectives. |

| I dont know why people are complaining about it. It is a good idea. The only thing i would change is to make them move like a normal jetbike, 12" and fire, or turbo boost 24" and get invunrable save. And pirahnas dont do the same thing. These guys are support, they carry markerlights. And they can hold objectives, which pirahnas can't |

| umm there is really no point in this as the tau already have piranhas, which fulfill the same function |

| I don't think the Jetbike should be limited to 6" in the movement phase. Or at least classify the vehicle as something else. Calling it a Jetbike allows not only 12" movement (though I do like the duplication of the Eldar 6" in the Assualt Phase special rule) and also for the bike to Turbo Boost. In addition, Jetbikes count as stationary for firing purposes, allowing them to move and shoot Markerlights and Railrifles. This seems a little overpowered for the points. Example: Sniper Drone with lower Armor is armed with a Railrifle, Stealth field and Target Lock for roughtly 26.5pnts. The Jetbike is armed with a Carbine, Markerlight, and a Railrifle, and can fire 2 weapons per turn (you didn't specify that the upgraded weapons weren't drone-crontrolled, so I assumed they were). It may not have a Stealthfield, but it has a 3+ save and the all powerful ability to move-n-shoot it's heavy weapon(s). I know this is only one in three bikes, but this very reason is why GW made Vypers and Attack Bikes seperate selections. My suggestions would be drop the driver's gun and make the TL Pulse Carbines part to the vehicle, and driver operated (like SM Bolters on thier Bikes). Classify it as a true Jetbike and keep the upgrades along a 'scoot and shoot' philosophy: Medium ranges; no heavies. The Burst Cannons were a good idea, I'd also say Plasma Rifle or Fusion Blaster. This came off as a rant because I've been toying with the same idea for my army and had these rules ironing out in my head. Overall, it's a great idea that perfectly fits the race. |

| See the Tau Tetra rules, it pretty much removes the need for such a model. |
