Thanks to Aunvre for this.
Comander Farsight stood on a hill, overlooking a dense forest on the newly discovered planet of Arthas Moloch. Behind the commander stood his personal honor guard, a team of XV8 Crisis Battle suits. Down the hill marched ten shas'la squads. Behind the Shas'la came the kroot warriors with their hounds. At the end of the small convoy were the skyrays and the broadside battlesuits. The Tau camp was on the other side of the hill. the had discovered the forest many days ago but Commander Farsight had been wary to explore it because of what might lie underneath the green canopy.
His Ethereal however, obviously thought differently about the forest and had finally convinced the commander to explore it. As the party moved deeper into the forest, with the kroot overhead in the treetops whooping and dropping branches and twigs on the warriors below, signs of a struggle became all too clear to Commander Farsight. It was easy to see the bolter fire blasted so carelessly into the trees by the Gue'la. The Gue'la's presence on this world, either past or present, did not bother Farsight. He had dealt with them before and would do so again without hesitation if they did prove to be on this new planet. What did worry the Farsight was the blasts from the opposing force. He had never seen anything like it. The bark seemed to have been completely vaporized on small sections of the trunk.
Suddenly the kroot seemed too noisy and the Farsight ordered them down from the trees to continue the exploration in silence. The procession carried on without incendent and they eventually reached a clearing. In the middle of the clearing was a monument. Now it became it clear that the force opposing the Gue'la was one the Tau had never encountered. The ethereal walked over to it and bent to inspect it. He reached out to touch the thing and it pulsed green light. The ethereal backed away as Comander Farsight looked on in astonishment. The Monument hissed and then grew. Green lightning shot out the top of the thing and struck the ethereal in the chest. He flew back into a tree and slumped down, his life fluids oozing out the gaping wound.
Commander Farsight had to shout now that the hissing was reaching its loudest.
"Men! Fall back to the treeline!" as soon as the last Shas'la and Kroot warrior were inside tree cover, the ground beneath them trembled and shook. Suddenly everything stopped. Not a sound could be heard. Dirt in the clearing flew up. Stones and other debris flew into the stunned Tau; some big enough to cause casualties. When the dust and dirt settled, there stood an army in metal of such age and corrosion that it seemed to have been buried for thousands of years. In each warriors hands was a glowing green gun pointed straight at the Tau!
"Shas'la, Fire!" yelled Farsight. The nervous fire warriors didn't have to be twice. Pusle rifles flared to life as shot after shot slammed home into the army across the clearing. Many of the Rusted warriors fell without a sound. the Tau line stopped firing. The rusted warriors that had been felled got up, picked up their weapons, and started to march across the clearing, with rest of their force following behind. Rotting corpses pushed their way to the front where their hands should have been were gleaming blades that looked like impossibly sharp surgical blades. Green lighting errupted from the advancing armys' lines. each found its mark on a shas'la or kroot warrior, felling each one in turn. Just as the blades of the corpes were about to slice into the first fire warriors, the whole force just stopped.
The sky turned black. A great pillar of smoke and fire descended upon the clearing. Out of the fire stepped a figure at least a metre taller than Commander Farsight even in his battlesuit. At the time Commander farsight did not know it, but he was facing Mephet'ran the deciever. Mephet'ran produced a gigantic blade fit for two hands by any normal warrior, but Mephet'ran weilded it easily with one. The Tau commander was truly afraid for the first time in his life. He aimed his fusion blaster at the figure towering over him, but the C'tan just laughed in his face. The brave Tau commander thought his life had come to an end. But the C'tan turned the blade aruond and handed Farsight the hilt. As soon as the blade's icy hilt came in contact with Farsight, gone were the ideals of the Greater Good.
Gone were the teachings of his beloved mentor, Commander Puretide. Now only one goal existed for Commander Farsight: to serve the mighty C'tan and their undead war host.

I agree that both Aun'Va and Farsight are C'Tan tainted, this isn't quite how I envisioned Farsight falling, but at least the ending is the same.

I agree with Shas'El Kais Cadre, there is no way he is working with the necrons but it is a good idea and a good story

Nice story, but I fiercly disagree that Farsight is fighting for the Necrons. This is another delicate subject, like the Ethereal pheromone control theory, and many have different ideas on it. Otherwise, good story!

Great story, but the codex states that he is following his own intentions. Other wise it rocks!
