Troupe of New Worlds

Thanks to Wargamer for this

There is a world, hidden somewhere between Ko'Shanniah and Iyanden, that is home to a shrine; a temple to the Laughing God.

Within this temple reside the Troupe of New Worlds. It is so called because the worlds on the eastern fringe of the galaxy were those least affected by The Fall, and thus it is believed by many Eldar that it is here the rebirth will begin.

The temple takes all elements of Eldar culture and design, and blends them seamlessly together. The elegent flowing lines of Craftworld design give contrast to the harsh, dark tones of Commoraghian architecture, whilst interspaced with natural simplicity.

Wherever the Harlequin Troupes of the temple travel, they collect a following of dolths (or "gifts for a skilled performer"), and followers who wish to become Harlequins themselves. These are returned to the Temple, and the aspirants begin a long, hard and perilous journey.

The neophytes begin to train in the ways of combat in the name of the Laughing God. Whenever possible, they will accompany the Troupes to fight the Great Enemy, or whatever foe intrudes upon the Eldar realms. Only a few will survive long enough to be truly accepted, and become Mimes.

Amidst the Neophytes can be found all forms of Eldar people; from the raiders of the Dark Eldar, to the disciplined Aspect Warriors. All are united (if often uneasily) by the Harlequins.

Even the dead serve the Temple. Craftworld Eldar who fall before becoming Mimes have their souls stored in the Barrows to the north of the Temple. However, not all are content to sleep the millenia away, and the Spirit Seers can awaken the most talented, and fuse them into the bodies of Wraithlords. These warriors continue to train in the ways of the Laughing God, and thus can achieve in death what they did not in life; become Spirit Walkers, the Wraith-Harlequins.

Only a few outsiders have ever seen this Temple. Only the Harlequins know the Webway portals that lead to it, and no outside race has entered the system since the Fall, save those taken as slaves to slate the hunger of the Dark Kin, or the amusement of the Harlequins.
