Crisis Battlesuits

Thanks to Avor for this.

The Tau battlesuits are able to move 6" in the movement phase and another 6" in assault. This opens up a simple strategy that works well with lots of terrain.

The first step is to move up with in a few inches of a building and still have line-of-sight with the enemy troops. Then onto the shooting phase, pray to the dice gods. After the shooting phase move behind the building to a point where they cannot see you after their movement phrase. Next turn repeat this.

A few things to remember; make sure you can get back behind the building, remember you can fly over the building, know when to pull back, missile pods are best for this strategy because of the range and strength, know the speed of enemy troops, also substitute the scenery for a row or two of FW and force them to waste shots trying to hit you, take a well rounded group of weapons (Missile pods and plasma rifles), fear ordnances and take a broadside or two for back-up.

A more advanced version of this would be attempting to create cover zones. When the enemy moves forward to try to get near you suits have the area open to another set of suits. This will prevent them from trying to flank you.

This strategy has worked well because it forces the enemy to drive straight for your FW at the end of the table while they take heavy loses. By the time they reach your main army they will hopefully be at less then half their original starting strength and must still have to face your main army.
